CityBLD: Procedural City Creation Toolkit for Unreal Engine 5

Cities: Skylines for developers.

Take a look at CityBLD – a tool for easily creating cities in Unreal Engine 5. It incorporates a bunch of kits that you might have seen separately, making the process look like you're playing Cities: Skylines – draw a line, and here is your road. Sketch some layouts and get a district full of various buildings.

"By default, CityBLD offers the best results with modern American or European style cities, but the tools are designed in such a way that with only slight modification you can create virtually any city in existence – be it an ancient port town, sci-fi metropolis, or something even more abstract!"

The team behind the tool describes the process of generating cities this way: first, you choose a preset for your assets, then you make a Streetmap, which sets the scene for the building process. Afterward, generate city blocks in the Streetmap, Lots, Building Shapes, and modular buildings based on the Building Shapes.

And that's not all! The tool's Mass AI integration allows you to add realistic road, air, sea, rail, and foot traffic to make it more alive.

You can cross your city with roads of different shapes: curved, elevated, or on uneven ground. What CityBLD doesn't generate is interiors – here you'll have to work on your own.

Full disclosure: I haven't tried the generator myself, so I can't be sure it works like the developers say it does, but it looks cool. Tell me if you've tried it out.

CityBLD is only available through a waitlist for now. You can get access to it around 2 months after signing up.
