Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Dev Shares How UE5 Shaped The Game

Hear insights from Tom Guillermin, co-founder of Sandfall Interactive.

In this interview, Tom Guillermin discussed his journey with Unreal Engine and the role it played in developing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, one of 2025's biggest hits and already the most-nominated game in The Game Awards history with 12 nominations.

Guillermin also explained how key UE5 features like Lumen, Nanite, and Blueprints helped with production. The team used Fab plug-ins to prototype game features and relied on a variety of free and paid assets to quickly develop and refine ideas.
