ConcernedApe Pauses Haunted Chocolatier Development to Focus on Stardew Valley Update

While the update primarily aims to enhance modding capabilities, it will also feature new content.

Haunted Chocolatier, the upcoming game from Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the creator of the farming life simulation game, Stardew Valley, will be put on hold as he announced that he is taking a break from its development.

Instead, as the developer stated, he will shift his focus back to Stardew Valley – the game will receive update 1.6 in the near future.

Last June, Barone confirmed that he had plans for additional content to be added to his farming life simulation game. According to the recent announcement, the upcoming update 1.6 for Stardew Valley will feature modifications that facilitate easier and more robust modding capabilities.

In addition, some "new game content" is also planned for the new update, although not as much as was included in the previous update 1.5.

Once the Stardew Valley update is released, Barone intends to resume the development of Haunted Chocolatier, although there is no indication from the developer as to how long he intends to pause the work on the game.

Haunted Chocolatier was first revealed in late 2021. It is set to be a role-playing game that incorporates chocolate-making, monster-fighting, and small-town-living elements. The game is designed with a similar visual and musical style to the massively successful Stardew Valley.
