Cool Procedural Knitting Shader For Blender

Rahul Parihar continues to work on the Woolly Tools & Shaders V2 free update.

Despite being called crochet, this shader is actually knitting and is a part of the future update for Woolly, Rahul Parihar's wonderful needle-felt modifier that allows you to instantly turn your 3D models into cozy-looking plushies.

As the artist works on improving his tool, Woolly will soon receive hair systems, curve modifiers, materials, and models, all part of the V2 free update that is currently in development. Take a look at this Rope Modifier, one of new modifiers that you can drag and drop from the Asset Browser onto a curve to instantly get braids, threads, beads, and stitches:

And here are velvet and glitter shaders, coming in the update as well:

According to the Woolly Tools & Shaders V2's page, it will include:

  • Materials: Knitting, Velvet, Denim, Glitter, Corduroy, Satin, Leather, Lace, Weave, Spangles;
  • Hair Systems: Felt, Fuzz, Sequin, Teddy Fur, Faux Fur;
  • Curve Modifiers: Stitch, Braid, Threads, Rope, Beads, Mesh;
  • Mesh Modifiers: Organic Displace, Proximity Displace, Sticky Coordinates;
  • Models: Buttons, Googly Eyes, Resin Eyes.
