The new contest will be hosted by UpSync Berkeley and Core Games and will have $10,000 as a winner’s prize.
Manticore Games, the developer of Core, and UpSync Berkeley that helps students to build careers in technology announced the new contest, Student GameDev Hackathon.
The whole of November, there will be workshops and speaker series that will introduce you to the Core platform for game creation and publishing. During the workshops, you’ll learn how to create a high-quality 3D single or PC multiplayer game in Core powered by Unreal Engine. The theme for your project is 2020 The Game. Recreate this year as if it was a game.
The submissions are open until November 29, 2020. The winners will be announced on December 4 on Core’s Twitch channel.
Everyone who will take part in the contest will be considered for the following awards:
- A Prize Pool - $10,000 and participation in Core's Creator Payouts Program
- Grand Prize - $3,000
- People's Choice Award: $2000 for the 1st place, $1000 for the 2nd place, $500 for 3rd place
- 2 Core Student Innovation Awards: $250 each
