It gets new tools for procedural tiles, scattering options, weathering and staining effects for the edges, and more.

Previous versions
Chaos Czech has released Corona 11, the latest version of its renderer for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D.
Perhaps the most important feature of the new version is Corona Tile Map, a tool that generates procedural tiles. It allows you to create multiple inputs and outputs, so one tile map can be used to control results for color, glossiness, bump, displacement, and more.
"You can now use bitmaps or procedural maps to define the colors of the tiles and repeat, randomize, or even tessellate an image onto the tiles, depending on your needs. The Corona MappingRandomizer and MultiMap now come with “by tile id” modes, so that you can randomize results by each tile if desired. "

Another handy addition is scattering options. Scatter Altitude lets you set upper and lower limits, for example, for treeline and waterline, so scattering affects only this part and doesn't touch the lower part of the scene. Scatter Look At, another great novelty, will make your items look in the same direction, which is especially useful when you need your crowds to look at the stage or move in the same direction.
Moving on, you can now apply effects weathering and staining effects to the edges of objects with Edge Map/Edge Shader, creating a realistic aging impression. It makes a color gradient based on how far away a point is from a geometric edge.

Moreover, Corona for Cinema 4D gets support for Pyro, its smoke and fire simulation tool, while Corona for 3ds Max welcomes Corona Power Tools, a set of scripts "designed to speed up and replace repetitive and tedious design adjustments." For instance, use the Object Replacer tool to easily swap a set of objects with a different one.
Chaos also introduced an updated Intel Denoiser to Corona, which can now run on the CPU or compatible GPU.
Prices for Corona 11 start at $53.90/month. Find the full list of changes here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
