JangaFX shared a new lesson on making the slime effect based on the smoke visualization.
JangaFX, a studio specializing in real-time 3D simulation solutions, showcased a new tutorial on creating slime in EmberGen.
In the video, the artist creates the slime effect in the software by making "super-heavy smoke," which immediately sinks down. He also tweaks such settings as dissipation and diffusion so that the smoke slows down as it moves.
The creator suggests using the slime effect to visualize lava or create a character model walking across a landscape in watery mud. He explains that if you remove the diffusion of the velocity and reshape the material, you can get a cool fake water effect:
