Crimson Desert was a huge success for Pearl Abyss from its very launch, and in just a month, it managed to sell over 5 million copies worldwide, following a strong start in March.
"Thank you to every Greymane who has joined us on this journey, experienced the world of Pywel, and supported the game. Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without your support and we are truly grateful," said the game's X/Twitter account.
The game was released for PC, Xbox, and PS5, and it attracts more than 100,000 players every day on Steam only, so this is not just a matter of quantity but also quality. Although some players complain about its mediocre plot, 86% of reviews on Steam are positive.
More is coming, as the developers regularly roll out updates, fixing issues reported by players, with a new one arriving soon: Pearl Abyss plans to introduce "expanded challenges, gameplay refinements and system enhancements" in June, aimed at "enhancing the overall player experience," the studio said (via Polygon).
Earlier, Pearl Abyss confirmed it used AI-generated props, saying that they were created during early development and were "unintentionally included in the final release".
