According to the new demo, DLSS 3.5 provides 80-110 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 on maximum graphics settings with full ray tracing.
According to the team, the upgraded technology will improve ray tracing with Ray Reconstruction (RR), enhancing visuals compared to denoising techniques. NVIDIA emphasized that Ray Reconstruction has been trained on five times more data than DLSS 3 to take into account additional game and software engine data, recognize ray-traced effects, distinguish between good and bad temporal and spatial pixels, and preserve high-frequency data for upscaling.
A couple of hours after the announcement, NVIDIA shared a demo showcasing the benefits of using DLSS 3.5 in the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. The team demonstrated the difference in lighting with ray tracing and without, using the reconstruction technology. The upgraded tech allows the game to reduce the amount of visual noise and increase the overall image detail.
As for performance tests with DLSS 3.5, the upgrade provided 80-110 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 on maximum graphics settings with full ray tracing. DLSS 3.5 is said to launch later on all GPUs in the RTX series so this will not be exclusive to graphics accelerators from the RTX 40 lineup.
