The information scavenger hunt for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake or Remastered has enrolled more participants recently, from fans to potential release platforms. The clues we have right now include leaks on social media coming from various insiders like Jeff Grubb and NateTheHate, screenshots uploaded probably by mistake by developer Virtuos Studios, and the accidental reveal of its release date by the Xbox Support team.
Now, the official player is seemingly joining as well, as some relevant tidbits have been found on Bethesda's own site.
Data miner Such-Ad5976 spotted a reference to "oblivion-remastered" in the Google Tag Manager setup and posted it on Reddit. Further tracking of its timestamp shows that it wasn't there before April 10, so it was updated quite recently. The URL that it points to, https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/oblivion-remastered, shows "Page not found" right now.
The remake or "remastered" of the beloved 2006 RPG first showed up in a leaked 2020 internal document from Bethesda. Some main gameplay systems, including Stamina, Sneak, Blocking, Archery, Hit Reaction, and HUD, are said to have been reworked with Unreal Engine 5.
Based on what insiders and the Xbox Support team have said, it would likely be coming either on April 21, after The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) anniversary event ends. So, there are only around three days left to figure out if all of the leaks, rumors, and suspicions are true or simply an illusion.
