Developer Eidos-Montréal Fires a Dozen More Employees
It is unknown whether the new round of job cuts will affect Fable and Grounded 2.
According to several LinkedIn posts that surfaced over the past couple of days, game development studio Eidos-Montréal has quietly laid off around a dozen employees, continuing to shrink its workforce after firing 75 workers in late March 2025 for reasons unrelated to their skills or performance.

Former Gameplay Director Samuel Daher said, "I was working at Eidos, loved it and would have stayed, but times are difficult," and that he is looking for a new job. Stuart Wheeler, former Associate Design Director, was also among those affected, along with Charles Fortin, Tanya C., Lucas Trombetta, Patrick Cote, Laetitia Amoros, Hugo Fredoueil, Grady Frederick, Aymeric Ruiz, Zabdiel M., and Grant Martin.
Allegedly, besides conducting a new round of job cuts, the studio has also cancelled many projects, with some fearing that this may result in further layoffs. Supposedly, one of the cancelled games was a Legacy of Kain revival, among others.
Playground Games
The apparent focus of the studio right now is working with Microsoft to support the development of Playground Games' Fable and Obsidian's Grounded 2. At the moment, it's impossible to say for sure whether the new firings will affect those two titles in any way.
