Developer Makes an Angry Birds Clone Using Only AI

Javi Lopez, an AI enthusiast who previously utilized GPT-4 to generate basic Doom/Wolfenstein-style game maps, has recently unveiled a new mind-blowing project that demonstrates how recent advancements in AI technology enable the creation of simple games in under a day, even without advanced programming or artistic skills.
Meet Angry Pumpkins, a Halloween-themed Angry Birds clone made with nothing but various artificial intelligence models used for various purposes. According to Javi, a combination of DALL-E and Midjourney was employed to generate the game's visuals and backgrounds, while OpenAI's GPT-4 took charge of the programming. Interestingly, the entire game comprises a mere 600 lines of code, all of which were authored by the AI.
"Although the game is just 600 lines of which I haven't written ANY, [programming] was the most challenging part," commented the author. "As you can see, I got into adding many details like different particle effects, different types of objects, etc. And to this day, we're still not at a point where GPT-4 can generate an entire game with just a prompt. But I have no doubt that in the future we'll be able to create triple AAA video games just by asking for it."
