Deviation Games, a game development studio currently creating a brand-new IP for PlayStation, has experienced a significant layoff in the recent days, reportedly leading to the termination of a majority of its workforce.
As per VGC's sources, up to 90 employees may have been affected by this layoff, while Deviation had only around 100 employees when it announced its collaboration with Sony in June 2021, and it is presently uncertain if the studio's workforce has substantially altered since then. While neither Sony nor Deviation Games have issued a statement on the layoffs, multiple artists and developers from the studio commented on their dismissal via LinkedIn:
