Diablo 4 Players Spend Season 1 Stuck in Queues

The game's rating drops shockingly low.

Diablo 4 finally launched its first season on July 20, but it didn't go as well as expected. Many players complain about having to wait in long queues to get to the content. Thankfully, Blizzard knows of the issue and is working on this.

However, even if you get to play, it might not be a peaceful experience as some players report multiple problems with the game and its performance. This just adds fuel to fans' discontent and sinks Diablo 4's reputation after the latest 1.1 patch, which enraged a lot of players.

Apart from reducing several stats, basically nerfing the characters, Blizzard decided that you need a certain level to progress to World Tiers 3 and 4, meaning you were stuck with your loot and XP gains until you leveled up. This caused an uproar, and many players threatened to quit the game.

The backlash forced Blizzard to change its mind. Soon, the level requirements were eliminated, but the queues, other issues, and the fact you need to create a new character for the season don't make it easy for the company to keep its fans.

Interestingly, during the beta tests general manager Rod Fergusson said that queues are sometimes necessary. I'm not sure it works right now though, and a lot of people seem to agree as Diablo 4's User Score on Metacritic dropped to 2.0, an astonishingly low number, especially after its initial success.
