83-year-old Don Bluth, the legend behind The Secret of NIMH and The Land Before Time, announced the launch of Don Bluth Studios, a new team that will be working on “new characters, new ideas, and new cartoons.”
"We believe the public is craving another renaissance of hand-drawn animation," wrote the team. "Our goal is to make that dream become a reality."
One of their projects is called Bluth Fables, and it's based on “multiple short stories similar to nursery rhymes and Aesop fables.” The story is written by Bluth himself.
They have also uploaded a number of streams to Youtube to show how they approach their projects. "Our company will be VERY transparent," they wrote. "Showcasing and updating the public with concept art, pencil tests, model sheets, animatics, and much much more. We are excited to show everyone what we have been working on. Please join us in our new adventure!"
