Download The Demo Of This Ironic Retro-Futuristic Space Survival Game

Breathedge 2 developers would like to know what you think about the game's ideas.

RedRuins Softworks has released a demo trailer for Breathedge 2, a satirical retro-futuristic survival game set in the vastness of space, which is a sequel to its popular 2021 open-world survival game of the same name.

Although the first fifteen seconds of the trailer presents the game as a grand space-themed AAA project, the rest of it is a hilarious interpretation of the gameplay players will be experiencing — exploring the environments, interacting with surroundings, throwing items randomly, gathering resources, punch everything you see, including a sleeping fellow, fighting with space monsters, sucking oxygen out of space worms via their "digestive system," all in a first-person perspective.

In this demo, players will have a taste of the very beginning of the game, "featuring the first main and side quests, equipment, resources, crafting, and, of course, a generous helping of space junk." Right, you've been sent to outer space, which is filled with dangers and things to explore. This is basically all we know for now about the setting.

According to the developers, the full game would consist of different zones, each with unique rules, resources, and opportunities to explore. Also, there will be various star systems that are visually distinguished, with colorful planets in the background and some dead passengers floating around. Along with you is a crew of participants that you, the captain, need to take care of. Pay attention to their needs, deal with their personal goals, and avoid disregarding them.

Breathedge 2 doesn't simply serve the function as a usual sequel — "It's a full-on reimagining of every mechanic, interface, system, and overall logic." So, the team would love to hear your voices and feedback after trying it, sharing what you like or dislike and most excited about it.

As for how long the demo will be available on Steam, per the current plan, it'll be there for a limited time and taken offline on March 3, but this could be subject to adjustment if the developers find it necessary to extend it a bit longer. Learn more about this demo on its store page or from this funny announcement from the development team.
