Cairn is the new title from the indie developer behind Furi and Haven.
The Game Bakers, the indie developer behind Furi and Haven, has announced that the demo version of their upcoming survival climber Cairn is now available on Steam. The announcement comes with a trailer showcasing a tough journey that the protagonist, Aava, is taking as she hones her skills climbing Tenzen Mountain.
Cairn boasts a realistic simulation of mountain climbing. Players can decide where to climb by checking the rock face and planning the route carefully, finding the best places for limbs, and adjusting your poses to ensure you are well-balanced to move upwards. The journey to conquer Mount Kami is quite lonely, as no one has ever reached its peak, but Aava has made it her dream. Along the way, she will also meet unexpected companions as she discovers the mountain's history.

Climbing is the key part of the gameplay, while similar to the reality, climbers will also need to pack up resources and tent with them to gain stamina and have a rest. "Manage your resources to survive during the long ascent: pitons, chalk, finger tape... but also food, water and medicine. Set up bivouacs and explore the mountain to find resources to reach the summit," the game description reads.

The game also offers an expedition mode where players can choose different roles and climbing styles, such as alpine or free solo. The photo mode can also help you take a shot of the stunning scenery on your unforgettable and atmospheric journey.
