Players frustrated with Dragon's Dogma 2 can now breathe a sigh of relief as the game's developer, Capcom, has announced its first patch after the game's release.
The updates, scheduled for "the near future," include the much-needed option for console players to set frame rates to a maximum of 30 FPS. This feature could potentially offer a more consistent performance, hopefully alleviating some of the issues players faced since the game's launch.
As we previously reported, complaints regarding performance issues on the PC port emerged almost immediately after the game was released. For those players who are frustrated by their poor experiences, there is additional good news. Among the updates in this patch is a new feature that could work as a placebo: the ability to embark on a new quest, regardless of existing saved data.

There are some other highlights in the update as well, including that more "Art of Metamorphosis" items will be made available in the Pawn Guild, and a quest that provides a dwelling that allows players to save and rest will be introduced earlier in the game. Console players can also expect to see settings that allow graphics adjustments, although these are not expected to "affect the frame rates significantly".
While these updates are anticipated with great interest, Capcom has yet to specify a release date for the patches. You can follow them on Twitter to be updated.
