It was announced that It Takes Two will get a movie adaptation back in January. Now, the project is set up at Amazon for priority development, with Dwayne Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions producing it.
Variety reported that dj2 Entertainment, which co-produced Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel, is working on the It Takes Two adaptation along with Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia from Seven Bucks Productions, known for Red Notice, Jungle Cruise, and Jumanji: The Next Level.
The game creators Hazelight Studios will also take part in the production. Johnson might star in the movie, but it is not confirmed yet.
dj2 Entertainment is working on multiple game adaptations: Disco Elysium, Streets of Rage, Little Nightmares, Life is Strange, and more.
It Takes Two is a 2021 multiplayer action-adventure game about a couple Cody and May on the verge of divorce who find themselves in dolls' bodies and get a new perspective on their relationship while trying to get back to their daughter. The gameplay consists of a variety of game mechanics from different genres.
