Electronic Arts (EA) has gathered the largest team in the franchise's history to develop the newest installment of the acclaimed Battlefield series, as stated by CEO Andrew Wilson during a recent earnings call. Wilson expressed his excitement for the progress made by the record-breaking team, following hands-on experience with the game.
“A few weeks ago, I was visiting with the teams, and I couldn’t be more excited about what they showed and what we were able to play.”
“I’ve just spent a whole bunch of time with the collective Battlefield team playing what they’re building and it is going to be another tremendous live service.”
The forthcoming Battlefield game promises to return to its roots, as the team behind it is playing it safe. It'll also feature 64-player matches and a 4-class system while revamping the destruction systems. The game's setting is projected to be around 2025-2030, with a focus on modern military technology.

This announcement came along with last month's news that the seventh season of Battlefield 2042 would be the game's final season. EA confirmed that the developers are channeling their resources into the creation of the next iteration of Battlefield.
