Lead Environment Artist at Respawn Entertainment Kevin Quinn, who back in February shared a closer look at the snow and ice made for God of War Ragnarök's Niflheim, continues showcasing the behind-the-scenes of the game with an amazing new collection of materials stylized as a biology textbook.
This time, the creator demonstrated the early LookDev explorations of the plants from the game's Ironwood location, showing how they looked during the pre-production stage. According to the artist, the plants were made using a combination of workflows that involved ZBrush and Houdini and rendered with ZBrush and KeyShot, with the goal being to "solve the look/direction of the plant set, attempt to define their world/character interactions, and get approval for production."
