Plugin developer Ian Lloyd Dela Cruz, also known as Blender Guppy, has unveiled a new tool called WrapIt for Blender, which is designed to simplify the process of creating plastic-like wrapping on selected objects, mimicking the effect of vacuum-sealed plastic.

WrapIt is capable of working on single or multiple active objects, and it is "most optimal for geometry that has extruded details so the stretched plastic wrapping and crumpled effect can be generated."
The crumpled and stretched appearance of the mesh is achieved by adjusting the resolution, the offset, and the smooth properties, without the need for any physics.

While it initially creates a transparent plastic shader, users can modify the material to create alternative appearances such as cloth, skin, metal, and more. With easy-to-understand settings and the ability to use different materials, WrapIt enables users to create a variety of looks.
