Elden Ring is Getting a Free Multiplayer Update

The game's previously locked mysterious colosseums will open up for various PvP battles including duels, free-for-alls, and team fights.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware have revealed that their open-world fantasy game Eldern Ring is getting a free multiplayer update that will let players into the previously locked colosseums so that they could participate in various PvP battles.

The Colosseum Update will introduce three PvP arenas – Limgrave, Leyndell, and Caelid – where, according to a description of a video promoting the update, players will be able to "engage in battles such as duels, free-for-alls and team fights."

Players have long been speculating on the empty colosseums in the game which hinted that there was the potential for a PvP mode. In addition, hints at its existence were discovered months ago by dataminers.

And now, the long-expected update is finally here – it will be available on all platforms (PC, PlayStation, Xbox) starting December 7.
