Embracer Group is moving forward with its restructuring process. This time, it seems Gearbox Publishing got under the cut.

As Game Developer noticed, some Gearbox employees have recently been laid off despite the success of Remnant 2, which was published by the team.

"Got laid off from Gearbox Publishing today. If anyone wants to chat about business development opportunities, you know where to find me!" former Senior Business Development Manager Steve Gee posted on LinkedIn.

Back in June, Gearbox's then-French localization specialist Allan Jacquemart shared that he and some of his colleagues had to be terminated as they were "victims of the group's restructuring."

It's not clear how many people have been let go as a part of Embracer's campaign, but the company has also just closed Saints Row developer Volition along with Campfire Cabal. The latter lasted for a year only.

Meanwhile, Gearbox Software is about to release all six Borderlands games in one Pandora's Box collection for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Layoffs are a trend now, which will definitely affect the game industry.
