Engineer Created Nintendo PlayStation Console

It's a fusion of PS and SNES and it even works! Kind of.

While Sony and Nintendo are competitors now, it hasn't always been this way. Back in the 90s, the two developed a so-called Nintendo PlayStation, a prototype console that could read both Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) cartridges and Sony's discs.

The console never saw the light of day and the companies parted ways, but the idea stayed, and at least one person was determined to make it a reality.

Tech enthusiast from James Channel managed to create his own version of Nintendo PlayStation by fusing halves of PlayStation 1 and SNES. Of course, it's not as easy as it sounds, and you can find the whole complicated process in the latest video from the creator.

Fighting persistent disc scratches, color problems, and the console's desire to simply not run any games, James eventually finished his grand project and played some old games on it. Despite the overall success, this Frankenstein's monster still has room for improvement: the picture wouldn't fit the screen and Nintendo games were "slightly glitchy" on PlayStation's guts. Unfortunately, SNES titles don't work on it at all.

If you enjoy vintage gaming stuff, you should definitely check out other videos on James's channel as well as this tiny PlayStation 5 that is smaller than the PS5 Slim.
