Epic Games Releases Unreal Fellowship for Film, VFX, and Animation Artists

The four-week learning course will start on August, 24.

Epic Games has started a new intensive course for film, VFX, and Animation professionals. During the course, 50 participants will focus on the insights into using Unreal Engine, virtual production, and techniques for the real-time production process.

The fellowship is mostly based on the Unreal Online courses for learning basic skills and also goes with 22 hours of live training, weekly lectures from industry professionals, weekly meetings, and so on. The whole educational process will take approximately 94 hours with project work and discussions and will focus on such areas of production as model ingestion, animation, mocap integration, lookdev, lighting setups, and cinematic storytelling.

“At Epic we have always believed in the transformative power of real-time computer graphics for film and television production. With the Unreal Fellowship, we are actively investing in visionaries who will be responsible for crafting the stories of tomorrow to ensure that they are armed with a deep understanding of the many ways that real-time technology can benefit their projects.”

Kim Libreri, CTO of Epic Games via press release

The fellowship will run completely remotely and will also include a $10k stipend to each student to support them. The classes will start on August, 24 and finish on September, 21. The applications are open until July, 27.
