Leslie Benzies's studio couldn't avoid the unfortunate trend.
Build A Rocket Boy, a studio led by one of the Red Dead Redemption and GTA creators Leslie Benzies, has reportedly been affected by layoffs. An unknown number of workers in its publishing department, QA, and art teams will leave the company soon.
According to PCGamesN's sources, the layoffs were announced internally on February 19, 6 years after Benzies founded the studio. In 2022, Build a Rocket Boy decided to open a new office in Montpellier, France, adding to the ones already operating in Edinburgh and Budapest.
The studio is known for EVERYWHERE, an upcoming gaming platform, powered by Unreal Engine, that will let players create their own worlds, and MindsEye, a cyberpunk AAA action game that will be shipped on EVERYWHERE.
