Exaggerated Combat Animations Set Up in UE5
The animations were created for Half Sword, an upcoming over-the-top fencing simulator.
Have a look at this amusing demo that showcases some exaggerated and fun combat animations set up in Unreal Engine 5. Created for an upcoming game Half Sword, the demo depicts an over-the-top sword fight, which rivals Monty Python's Black Knight scene in terms of realism, and demonstrates the player character turning foes into gibs using a huge two-handed sword, recently added to the game by its developer.
"The mesh is pre-cut. I break the constraints on mesh and swap the model. I really want to make it like MGR (you cut exactly where you hit) but it is impossible on Unreal unless I use hard-surface meshes," commented the developer. "Maybe I will still come up with a better solution."
As said before, the animations were created for an upcoming UE5-powered game Half Sword, a "totally inaccurate physics-based medieval fencing simulator," as described by its author. The creator constantly shares amazing demos, showcasing the game's development process, new features, and fun combat and movement animations the game will have.
