Experience Awesome Combat in This 2D Fantasy Metroidvania Game

AWAKEN - Astral Blade is coming next month.

Dark Pigeon Games has announced the release date of AWAKEN - Astral Blade, a single-player fantasy Metroidvania game. The visual effect of the wide range of combos and skills looks epic.

The trailer showcased the protagonist, Tania, a bionic girl who is on a quest by her creator to rescue a missing Investigation Force. In a platforming adventure, she engages in intense combat with a few giant enemies, including a mechanic phoenix-like bird, colossal rock demons, and a sandworm even scarier than that in Dune.

With different choices, players may experience various routes that lead to unique story endings, and you are encouraged to explore the mysteries at your own pace. Meanwhile, in case of getting stuck with a boss fight, the difficulty level could be adjusted, and additional buffs can be used. The mysterious Aether collected can be spent on enhancing the character's ability or strength, or unlocking unique skills for different situations.

Other than the trailer on the top, we've found more footage shared by the developer on X/Twitter, which would give us further looks into the satisfying, fast-paced combats, delicately designed dark environment, and an adorable cat pet in the game:

The game will launch on October 22 on PC and PlayStation. A physical edition, published by Meridiem, will also be available. It will include "a specially designed slipcase, a printed Lore Book revealing more about Tania’s history and the mysterious Eternity civilization, the digital soundtrack and a sticker featuring the Fatal Boss." A demo is available on Steam for those who can't wait to try it.
