Eye of Sauron in 3D Dice Made with Unity

The author of The Unity Shaders Bible can play tabletop games with style.

Fabrizio Espindola, the author of The Unity Shaders Bible, has presented his new brilliant project – spooky dice with what looks like the Eye of Sauron inside.

"With Halloween around the corner, I felt inspired to create something fun in Unity. I ended up making this dice, which I think would be perfect for a board game," Espindola said, and it's impossible to disagree.

As usual, the piece was made in Unity, although he later shared a Godot version as well, featuring a pool ball inside.

The dice will be available for free once they are fully completed, so follow Espindola on X/Twitter or LinkedIn for updates.

You might also enjoy the creator's beautiful gemstone and Ghibli-style water effect. If you'd like to master Unity, be sure to get the Visualizing Equations: Essential Math for Game Devs book and check out our interview about technical art with the author.
