Factorio Sales Surpassed 3.5 Million Copies
The developers shared that on average, the game's sales reach about 500,000 per year.
The sales of Factorio, a construction and management simulation game from the Czech indie studio Wube Software, have surpassed 3.5 million copies since its 2016's Early Access Steam release, the developer revealed in a blog post summing up 2022.
What's more interesting, this impressive result was achieved even despite the developer never launching any sales events for the game (which is the studio's original policy since the game's launch).
Wube Software revealed that on average, Factorio's sales reach 500,000 copies per year and shared that the game's recent Nintendo Switch launch went pretty well.
The developer noted that the Switch version of Factorio has already sold over 40,000 copies since its October release and added that the simulator turned out to be very popular in Japan – this region accounted for about 40% of all sales of the Switch version of the game.
Along with the post, Wube Software also shared a Christmas postcard, which showcased some new item icons which apparently will be a part of the update or a DLC for Factorio that the studio is currently working on.
