FANTASIAN by Final Fantasy Creator Coming to PC & Consoles This Year
Just yesterday, Nintendo announced that the beloved mobile JRPG game, FANTASIAN, developed by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, will be launched this winter on the Nintendo Switch, titled FANTASIAN Neo Dimension. An announcement trailer was released to give us a first look at the game outside of the mobile platform:
Fantasian is a 2021 role-playing video game featuring turn-based combat, developed and published by Mistwalker. The game, initially exclusive to Apple Arcade, was produced and written by Hironobu Sakaguchi, with music by Nobuo Uematsu, both of whom are best known for their involvement in the Final Fantasy series. Here’s the intro to the game on Square Enix’s page:
“As Leo, embark on an adventure to discover your memories and save the world from a mechanical infection. Maneuver your skill trajectories during battle, and dive into a new dimension with a unique twist on a classic RPG experience.”
FANTASIAN Neo Dimension
Soon after the announcement, Hironobu Sakaguchi shared a message via the FANTASIAN Neo Dimension Twitter account, discussing the significance of FANTASIAN Neo Dimension to him, as well as his collaboration with Square Enix on this title. He admitted that the game FANTASIAN “has a special place” in his heart, as he thought it would be his last project before retiring. He said that rebuilding it at Square Enix to make it more widely known by bringing it to more platforms beyond mobile is “truly a blessing.”
Fantasian: Neo Dimension will also launch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC via Steam and will feature significant visual upgrades. We will diligently follow updates about the game.
