The developers promise major twists and turns.
Square Enix revealed a new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, announcing its release date – February 29, 2024.
Rebirth is set after Final Fantasy 7 Remake and is the second in a trilogy of remakes. It offers real-time action looking better than ever. To celebrate the announcement, the game's producer, director, and creative director shared a message with the franchise's fans, promising enhanced features and a dramatic story "with major twists and turns."
You can expect a more ambitious storyline, powerful monsters, and fun mini-games.
Moreover, a new PlayStation blog post revealed that the game will not take you to Wutai as the order in which you visit locations has been changed in the remakes.
"Although there are some changes in the order of the locations, the locations depicted in this title extend up to “The Forgotten Capital,” where the greatest fate of Final Fantasy VII awaits you," commented Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura.

Those wishing to directly continue their Final Fantasy VII Remake experience might be disappointed: you can't port your save files from the previous game, but there are some special starting bonuses for fans with Remake in their library.
