In case you missed this, Axiom is a sparse, GPU-accelerated volumetric fluid solver from Theory Accelerated. With version 3.3 having just dropped a few days ago, the developers have now shared a sneak peek of the next major release, which will support the latest Houdini production builds and the upcoming 21.
The key improvement in Axiom 4.0 is more precise collision handling and reduced value loss when working with animated colliders. Fluids can now flow more easily through narrow spaces.
Additionally, the sourcing system has been completely redesigned, and performance optimizations have boosted the solver's speed by 5 to 15%. Intel's Thread Building Blocks is now the default for CPU multi-threading, making multi-threaded CPU operations significantly faster on some platforms.
