First UK Patient of Elon Musk's Neuralink Could Control Computer with His Thoughts Hours After Surgery

Great progress.

Neuralink's first UK patient, a man named Paul, who is paralyzed due to a motor neuron disease, received his implant earlier this month and could control a computer with his thoughts mere hours after the surgery.

If you aren't familiar with it, Neuralink is Elon Musk's start-up that implants chips into people's brains to make them use technology with a thought.

The very first person who received the chip a year ago, took longer to be able to move a mouse around the screen with their brain than Paul, so there is definitely progress happening in the technology.

Neuralink didn't share much detail on Paul except that its engineers are working on helping Paul use the implant to play his favorite video games like Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and "perform other tasks that could enrich and restore autonomy in his daily life."

"This marks an important step toward making our technology available to help people around the world," the company said.

I'm sure Paul will soon enjoy his favorite games, as does Neuralink's second patient, who played Counter-Strike with his mind not long after the surgery.
