The Mass Effect Trilogy co-creator and director confirmed that his new studio is developing a multiplatform AAA title set in a new sci-fi universe.
Casey Hudson, former BioWare general manager who is best known as the co-creator and director of the Mass Effect Trilogy, confirmed that his latest studio, Humanoid Studios, is currently working on a debut AAA title set in a new sci-fi universe.
Humanoid Studios shared the early details on the game via its updated website, saying that the new project will be centered around a "character-driven narrative". The gameplay and story details are yet to be revealed. The studio also noted that the game is set to be released on multiple platforms, although it didn't specify which.
The studio's website also features four pieces of concept art, although it is unclear whether they were created in order to tease the new title or just to decorate the website and set the mood.
Humanoid Studios was officially announced in June last year and it currently has at least 17 employees. The studio now keeps recruiting and, according to the website, it has 15 job openings across its offices in B.C. and Alberta including various artists, programmers, designers, and writers.
"We believe in the power of small, agile teams, and a flat organizational structure, where everyone is empowered to make decisions and help drive the project vision," shared the studio. "We hire great people, empower them with the best tools and a supportive environment, and provide them the creative freedom to explore their fullest potential".
