The first trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI was dropped in December 2023, and with the game's release now less than half a year away, one might think that it's time for the fans to catch another glimpse of the upcoming title.
Obbe Vermeij, a former Technical Director at Rockstar North, who worked on the GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA III, and more, on the contrary, supposes that the game doesn't need any additional trailers, and the silence will only benefit the anticipation.
In a recent Twitter post, the developer recalled the release of GTA IV, which took place 17 years ago in April. In a reply to that message, Vermeij shared his thoughts on the much-anticipated GTA VI, expressing his view on launching a new trailer: "If it was my call I wouldn't release any additional trailers. There is more than enough hype around VI and the element of surprise is going to make the release only bigger as an event," Vermeij says.

The first trailer introduces the game's setting, which is Vice City, Leonida, the series' version of Miami, Florida, and the two protagonists, Jason and Lucia:
