Forza Horizon 6 Developers Ban Those Who Play Leaked Copies Until Year 9999
Go big or go home?
Forza Horizon 6 will be released on May 19, but some people have already played it thanks to a leak that occurred recently.
One might think that someone pre-loaded the game via Steam and shared it, but Playground Games' developers rejected the idea. They are now "taking strict enforcement action against any individuals found accessing this build including franchise-wide and hardware bans."
The bans are no joke: the players who get caught enjoying the leaked version might be blocked until December 31, 9999, at least according to the message received by YouTuber DVS Squad, who uploaded a video showcasing the game early. Not for long, though; he got back quite quickly.

That's a harsh punishment, but with the increasing trend of players not owning games, I'm not sure the threat is that effective.
Forza Horizon is, of course, far from the first game to be leaked online or do something about it. GTA 6's footage was obtained by a group of people back in 2022, and the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developers asked fans not to play the version of the title released unofficially in 2024.
