Free Advanced Glass UE5 Material With Fake Caustic Shadows

Get PolySphere Studio's master material designed to deliver exceptional realism and flexibility.

After releasing the tutorial on fake translucent shadows in Unreal Engine 5 using Virtual Shadow Maps, Lucian Stroiny, also known as PolySphere Studio, noticed significant interest in the topic and decided to take it further by enhancing the material to create a fake caustic shadow and is now sharing it for free on Fab. The resulting shadow looks nice, especially given that VSM currently doesn't support this type of caustic effect. However, the limitation is that it doesn't account for color.

Advanced Realistic Glass is a versatile master material designed for games, architectural visualization, cinematics, and product rendering. It offers customizable options for opacity, roughness, and reflection, allowing you to create various types of glass, such as frosted, textured, and patterned. Fine-tune reflections and refractions by adjusting IOR and Fresnel settings and incorporate dirt, imperfections, or distortion normals to enhance the effect.
