Free Blender Asset Browser Will Save You Tons of Time

engon helps you search for assets, spawn, snap, scatter them, and much more.

Meet engon, a great open-source Blender asset browser with a variety of useful features, developed by polygoniq and available for free. It will help you search for the assets you need easily, instantly spawn them in the scene, and make them stick together with the handy Snap to Ground button. What makes it different is that you can specify, for instance, the number of triangles, the size, or the color of the asset to find matching objects.

If your assets, for example, trees or bushes, look the same, engon can diversify your environment by scaling and rotating them. Moreover, it offers scattering functionality, filtering options, and the ability to edit the assets.

You don't have to worry about your older scenes losing objects after a new version comes out thanks to engon's Migrator – a tool that replaces missing assets with appropriate ones.

engon works with asset packs (.paq), "curated compilations of assets of a certain type by a certain creator." polygoniq's other add-ons like botaniq, traffiq, aquatiq, materialiq, and botaniq-evermotion are now asset packs made for engon.

"Our goal was to make creative work in Blender faster and overall more enjoyable. Curated and consistent asset library makes the development of very advanced features viable. And more fun, for sure! Needless to say, we are quite proud of the result."

The tool is available for free, although you can support the developers if you wish. You can also receive starter kits of botaniq, aquatiq, traffiq, and materialiq by completing a survey
