Free Godot Node For Scattering MultiMeshInstances Along Path3D
Get Bryson McBee's add-on.
This add-on was developed by Bryson McBee during a game jam project. He needed to create schools of fish moving along a path, similar to games like Abzu and Sword of the Sea, but couldn't find any existing tools to control MultiMesh transforms along a Path3D. Bryson then decided to release the tool as open-source to help others and encourage improvements.
It should be great for scattering foliage, fences, tiles, or fishies. Simply add a MultiMeshPath3D node to your scene, assign mesh resources in the Mesh Variations section, and adjust the transform properties in the corresponding sections. You can modify transform settings, such as scatter/offset radius, rotation, and scale, to control how the instances move and behave along the path.
In the future, Bryson hopes to add some features to manipulate the vertex colors of each instance. Download MultiMeshPath3D here and play Bryson's games on itch.io.
