Free Photogrammetry Rock Pack

Travis Davids is giving away nine photogrammetry scanned rocks and some other stuff.

Travis Davids is a 3d artist from South Afriсa, who builds some awesome stuff and eagerly shares his knowledge with the community. He’s got tutorials and a lot of freely available packs for users. Most recently his Photogrammetry Rock Pack TOOLKIT got some love on the social media and we’ve decided to feature it here.

Basically, you can grab it from Cubebrush and Gumroad. The pack contains 9 photogrammetry scanned rocks, 7 custom rocks that were created by combining rocks together, 9 rock alphas, 1 IMM ROCK BRUSH that contains the high poly of each scanned rock. You also get 2 tutorials, showing you how to make something interesting out of these elements. The tutorial shows, how to quickly unwrap and texture these rocks with Substance Painter. To make the whole thing work, you really need to buy ZBRUSH 4R8. Travis also promises to add all the other rocks he will scan here for free.

These rocks will work for close-ups, mid-range and long range shots. The standard photogrammetry rock texture is mostly good for mid to long range. Not sure you’ll be able to use these for game environments, but it will definitely work for CGI projects.

    I have following problem:

For a project we would like to measure the distance of an moving object to a pair of cameras. Is there a software not only producing nice 3D images, but actual 3D information (eg as text/dxf file?), on how far an object is away.fdfdsfds

    Hello

There is access to the site, so we can make reference measurements of distances and angles and the like from the surrounding scene. Basically the data come from HD/FHD movie cameras, but a full motion analyses is not intended.

Accuracy does not need to be very high, in the range of 10 -20 cm would be cool.

Best and thanks a lot for the help
