Free Unreal Engine 5 LUT For Substance 3D Painter

Alexandre Alves released a new useful Lookup Table and shared a lengthy breakdown explaining how it was set up.

If your production pipeline involves both Substance 3D Painter and Unreal Engine 5, there's an incredible new Lookup Table (LUT) designed to profoundly simplify color rendering between these two applications.

Crafted by Alexandre Alves, a Software Engineer, Technical Director, and 3D Artist, this LUT seamlessly aligns UE5's and Substance 3D Painter's textures, minimizing the need for frequent adjustments between the software. According to the author, the LUT improves upon Brian Leleux's "ACES LUT For Substance Painter", which, in Alexandre's opinion, involves too many steps with post-processing and doesn't match as much the look of the current tonemapper in UE5.

You can learn more and download the LUT for free by clicking this link. And if you want to learn how to make your own LUTs and how this one came to be, you can also check out Alexandre's recent breakdown "How to match Substance Painter viewport with UE5?", which explores colorspaces, gamma, exposure, lighting, and much more. You can read the full breakdown here.
