We will see no game as it gets canceled.

According to recent reports, the developers behind Friday the 13th: The Game fan-made project have been hit once again with a "cease and desist" order from the representative of Horror Inc., the ones who have the copyrights for Friday the 13th and the ones made Gun Media shut down their Friday the 13th: The Game in 2020.
Recently, the creators announced Friday the 13th: Resurrected, a new free-to-play project, which was initially coming for release on April 15, 2024. However, after the copyright holders addressed the developers of the fan-made project, they'll have to shut it down.
"There can be no dispute that you know your conduct is unauthorized and unlawful. Indeed, in your Discord, numerous users have pointed out that proceeding to distribute this game without a license would obviously be copyright infringement," Joshua Geller, a representative of Horror Inc., stated in a letter. "Those warnings are correct, and your cavalier disregard of copyright law exposes you to liability for wilful infringement."
Here's what the developers wrote:
"It's a shame that someone wants to fight against a fan-made project with no profit made. It wasn't our intention to "hurt the brand" as Horror Inc claims we did," they wrote on Twitter.
"We want to thank this amazing community. We've met a lot of cool people on the path and have had a lot of fun working on the project. We want to let you know that we did fight for you, and we still do, but for now, the project is over.
Not only is the project over, but so is the franchise itself as it seems that Horror Inc. just wants to leave this incredible series behind them and let it be forgotten."
It's an unfortunate piece of news for those looking forward to the new Friday the 13th game. However, it is the way it is: the game is canceled.
