The game's announcement
FromSoftware has delayed the release of its Nintendo Switch exclusive, The Duskbloods, to 2027.
On X/Twitter, the Elden Ring studio explained that, though the game is in its final adjustment phase, it has made the decision to move the release window to next year. The game was originally planned for release in 2026. FromSoftware apologized to the players awaiting the launch and thanked the audience for their patience and support.
"While development of "The Duskbloods" is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027."
"We apologize to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title and thank you for your patience and support."
The delay didn't come as a surprise: as Kotaku noted, there has been no news about the game since the closed network test in August.
The Duskbloods, described as a spiritual successor to Bloodborne, follows the formula of FromSoftware's other games, such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. At the same time, it is a darker, more mysterious experience, set in a Gothic- and Victorian-style world. The upcoming RPG also differs in gameplay structure, as it is "an online multiplayer-focused game" at its core, "with both player vs player and player vs enemy gameplay."
