FromSoftware Has "No Plans" for Elden Ring 2 & Bloodborne So Far

But, who knows, "there might be more ideas in the future."

It seems that with the recent interview, Elden Ring's Director Hidetaka Miyazaki has brought some not-so-pleasant-to-hear news.

Speaking with IGN, Miyazaki shared that FromSoftware, the developer behind the beloved fantasy action RPG Elden Ring, has no plans for a sequel or a second DLC to continue the story and make its fans happy one more time.

"We don't want to say this is the end of the Elden Ring saga for now. I think we said a similar thing at the end of Dark Souls 3," stated Miyazaki. "We didn't want to flatten those possibilities or put a pin in them just at that time. And it's a similar story with Elden Ring. We don't want to discourage the possibilities for that. There might be more ideas in the future."

"We don't have any current plans to make a second DLC or a sequel, but we definitely don't want to snuff out that possibility. We think that there could well be something in the future," Miyazaki continued.

Miyazaki did say "current plans", as it was translated by the ResetEra user, so there's still hope for us to see the sequel, and it's understandable that the developer doesn't want to give any promises since nowadays the industry hit hard times to make any plans.

However, given its tremendous success, it would be sad if Elden Ring didn't eventually receive a well-deserved sequel. With millions copies sold worldwide and glowing reviews, it remains From Software's most successful release to date, following its launch in 2022.

Previously, we reported that the first, which also might be the last, Elden Ring's DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, is coming in a few months. Recently, the developer teased its first gameplay trailer and shared some details that you can find out about in this article.

During the same interview, Miyazaki also mentioned Bloodborne, stating that "FromSoftware has nothing to say here," so it seems that we might forget about this one as well.
