Full-Body, Hand & Facial Motion Capture From Any Video In Blender
BlendCap is completely local and offline.
Arcomade's BlendCap is a motion capture add-on for Blender that tracks the body, hands, and face from a single recorded video. It then retargets the captured performance directly onto your rig using custom mapping, with built-in presets for Rigify, Auto-Rig Pro, Mixamo, and CloudRig. It also includes a fast FK-to-IK conversion tool to help make editing and cleanup easier.
Additionally, BlendCap offers built-in fixes with adjustable settings to help you get the best results from each video. Every capture is saved, so you can reuse it on another character later without rerunning the capture, or export it for use in other software.
Everything works right inside Blender on your own computer. There's no subscription, no markers, no suit, and no internet connection needed after installation. According to the developer, BlendCap started as a personal project, and over time he kept adding features until it grew into a full performance-capture workflow.
BlendCap is still actively being developed. These are planned features and future directions, not fixed release promises: two-camera capture, more rig presets, smarter auto-match, multi-person capture, and resumable captures.
The tool requires Blender 4.2 or newer on Windows or Linux, and an NVIDIA GPU is recommended for the best experience. A full tutorial is coming soon, but the add-on has complete documentation to help you get started.
