It seems that the company has expansive plans for growth and further global presence.
miHoYo, a Chinese video game developer and publisher known for its gacha games, such as Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, etc., has reportedly made plans to construct a sprawling office space. The information was sourced from documents obtained from the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Planning and Resource Management. On October 18, miHoYo's subsidiary, Shanghai miHoYo Yingtie Technology, successfully acquired the land (which you can see below as "xh215-02A") for a staggering sum of ¥1.07 billion, approximately $137 million, granting them a 50-year usage right.
According to the public disclosure of documents, the plot of land is located within the core area of Shanghai's Caohejing Development Zone. It boasts a superior geographical position as it is adjacent to Line 9 of the metro system. The total area of the land plot is 17,800 square meters, designated for scientific research and design purposes.
According to the provided information by GameLook, the upcoming office project is allegedly expected to cover a substantial area of 98 thousand square meters. This significant space will reportedly be designed to accommodate an estimated 6,000 to 8,000 individuals, with each person allocated an area of 10-15 square meters, as calculated by the GameLook portal.
Interestingly to note, the current employee count on the miHoYo website stands at 5,000, suggesting that the company has expansive plans for growth and further global presence. Presently, miHoYo has employees stationed in various offices outside of China, including Singapore, South Korea, Japan, the USA, and Canada.
With construction slated to commence in the upcoming year, the development of the new office complex is expected to reach completion within a maximum timeframe of five years. This ambitious construction project reflects miHoYo's dedication to expanding its infrastructure and providing an exceptional working environment for its flourishing workforce.
