GPU-Accelerated FFT Water System For Unreal Engine 5

Dynamic Real Water is an easy-to-use water simulation with accurate, asynchronous CPU-based buoyancy physics.

Dynamic Real Water by Boran Öztürk is a high-performance, GPU-accelerated water simulation plug-in for Unreal Engine 5, built around FFT wave generation using compute shaders. It supports multi-LOD grid streaming and features a modular physics body system and asynchronous buoyancy physics via GPU readback. It also offers analytical foam simulation, semi-analytical caustics, depth map generation, and dynamic underwater effects for enhanced visual realism.

Designed for scalability and flexibility, DRW is suitable for everything from games and cinematics to simulations and interactive experiences, supporting both small-scale environments and expansive open-world scenes where realistic wave behavior and buoyancy interaction are critical. The tool features a simple drag-and-drop system and offers extensive coverage with massive 256x256 tiles.
