Groom My Guides - A New Grooming Tool for Maya

Here's a useful new tool for 3D artists.

'Groom My Guides Tool V1.0' from UnPLUG Tools has recently released Groom My Guides Tool V1.0, a toolkit for Maya that helps artists deal with grooming and guides creation tasks using procedural techniques.

Guides:

  • Extract Multi-Edge Guides.
  • Extract Edge-Curves from Poly Tubes.
  • Extract Multi-EdgeLoop Curves.
  • Create & Fill Volume Guides on input Nurbs tubes.
  • Create Steppy Guides on input Nurbs curves.
  • Create Twisted guide curves on Nurbs tubes.
  • Create Curly guide-curves on input guide-curves.

Modify Guides:

  • Soft-Snap guide-curves based on input falloff distance.
  • Rebuild guide-curves based on input unit value.
  • Randomize guide lengths based on input % value.
  • Snap whole guides onto Scalp mesh, with offset control.
  • Remove Penetrations on guide CVs based on the input offset value.
  • Select random elements from input elements based on input percentage value.
  • Grow guide CV selections.
  • Trim scalp-penetrated guide-curves from roots.
  • Move guide-curves Pivots to their roots.
